GYORI Thomas Alexander With sadness the family of Tom Gyori announces his passing on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Irma Gyori and lovingly remembered by his children, Paul (Deb) Gyori, Judith (Dean) Park, the late Bonnie Knight, Philip (Deb) Gyori, Dan Gyori, Alberta Bassetto, Tim (LeeAnn) Gyori, Ross (Aleatha) Gyori and Lorne (Angela) Gyori. Tom was born in Cornation, Alberta on October 12, 1919 and with parents, Louis and Rose Gyori moved to the Lockhart Valley in 1922. He is survived by dear sisters, Lil (Lorne) Lewis and Bertha Chisholm and was predeceased by sisters, Emma Iddings, Rose Rohn, Velma Langer, June Hardy and by two brothers Louis and Joseph. Tom farmed west of Bentley for over 50 years and was an active and admired community member. He was indeed a presence and was most respected for his plain spoken manner. His proudest achievement was serving the County of Lacombe as School Trustee and Councilor for 18 years; his greatest joy was listening to and speaking on behalf of the people of his community. Tom is mourned by the extended Gyori family and many friends. We wish to thank the Bethany Collegeside for their care of and kindness to dad. Funeral services will be held from the Bentley Community Church on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Brian Allan officiating. Interment will follow in the Bentley cemetery.
