GODIN Victoire (Vicky) Godin passed away peacefully at Rosefield Care Centre, Innisfail, AB, on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Vicky will be lovingly remembered by her children, Diane (Wayne) Backer of Calgary, AB, Ghislaine Theriault of Mississauga, ON, Denis (Doris) Theriault of Septs Isles, QC, Serge (Evelyn) Theriault of Whitehorse, YK, Carole Theriault of Whitehorse, YK and Johanne Theriault of Banff, AB. Vicky will also be remembered by her 6 grand-children, Nathan, Jonah, Robin, David, Joseph and Alexandra, as well as, numerous nephews and nieces. She is survived by her sisters, Diana, Therese, Odile (Jim), Giselle (Roger), and her brothers, Abbe (Lorraine), Lucien, Real (Helen), Robert (Annette) and Paul. She was predeceased by her brother Wilfred. Vicky was born in the village of Paquetville, NB on a small family farm on December 2, 1927, daughter of Odile Hache and Aime Godin. She married Pierre Theriault (deceased) in 1951 and, as military life dictated, spent the majority of her married life in numerous army bases in New Brunswick and Quebec, ending in the city of Trois Rivieres, QC in 1965. She moved to Red Deer, Alberta in the early 1990’s. Over the years, she enjoyed stamp collecting, weaving, ceramics and cribbage. Following Vicky’s wishes, a memorial mass and burial of her ashes will be held in the spring of 2008 in her village of Paquetville, NB. Memorial donations can be made to Rosefield Care Centre, Dementia Unit, 5023 42 St., Innisfail, AB, T4G 1A9, to your local Alzheimer’s Society Chapter or to a charity of your choice.
