ANDREW Walter William Andrew passed away at Red Deer Hospital on January 29, 2006 at the age of 81. Walt was born May 22, 1924 at Gilby, Alberta . He grew up in the Gilby district and purchased his farm there in 1942. To help support the farm, Walter was in the trucking business for several years. In 1951 he married Evelyn Haarstad of the Bentley district. It was on their farm that they started their life together and raised their four children. Walter was always a strong supporter of his community being involved in the Eckville Arena, Gilby 4H, Eckville Rodeo, ball and hockey. In 1979 when Walter’s son took over the farm, Walt and Evie moved to Eckville. He loved the farm and continued to be actively involved until his passing. He enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with his family and friends. Walter was passionate about his family, spending countless hours supporting all of their activities. Walter will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and many friends.
