Walter BOUTEILLER

December 13, 2007

BOUTEILLER Walter (Walt) Jack Sept. 18, 1921 - Dec. 10, 2007 It is with regret that we announce that Walt passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 10, 2007 after a long illness. He was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan, the first son of Peter and Mina Bouteiller. He grew up in the Arborfield, SK area and joined the army at age 20. He was eventually stationed in Red Deer, AB where he met and married the love of his life, Norma Anderson, on November 18, 1944. Walt and Norma stayed in the Penhold area for their entire married life and raised four daughters and watched their family grow. Many will know him as the "Birdhouse Man" from the Farmers Market, or "The Handyman" at Jackpot Casino, or a "Jack" of all trades even building a houseboat in the driveway! Walt is survived by his loving wife, Norma; his daughters Brenda Girling (Bus) of Revelstoke, Wendy Erickson (Don) of Red Deer County, Karen Young (Doug) of Sylvan Lake and Rhonda Christensen of Penhold. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren (Raymond, Michael, Deanna, and Shawn Kenney, Stacey, Robyn, and Jayson Erickson, Jami and Codi Greer, and Riley Christenson) and 8 great grandchildren (Kristie Kenney, Kristin, and Taryn Ward, Carson and Aiden Kenney, Nicholas and Emily Coyle, and Sam Erickson) He is also survived by his brother Eugene Bouteiller (Edna) and sisters Margaret Wall, Alice Paterson (Jim) and Lillian Carver (Howard). Many nieces and nephews enjoyed their Uncle Walt. Walt was predeceased by his parents, brothers Merland and Harold, sisters Irene and Helene and son-in-law Butch Kenney. Many thanks from the family go to Dr. Jim, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Hamilton, Dr. Singh and Dr. Donnelly, the staff in Emergency, ICU, Dialysis and Unit 31. The wonderful care that you gave Dad is greatly appreciated. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, December 14, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Penhold Memorial Hall. There will be a tea and time of friendship to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
