Walter DUNLAP

DUNLAP, Walter Charles Mr. Walter Charles Dunlap of Bowden passed away peacefully after a courageous battle on Friday August 6, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Walter was born on February 6, 1920 and was raised in the Bowden area. Walter adored the land and stands as one of the longest living Bowden Pioneers. He worked his days first and foremost as farmer, and was also employed as a grain elevator operator and an airplane mechanic for the war. Between tending his land and heading off to work, Walter found time to perfect his jokes and spend time with the family he loved so much. Walter enjoyed dancing, curling and being sneaky at cards. Walter will always be remembered as a cherished friend to all, a successful farmer, a world class comedian, a loving husband, a devoted father and amazing grandfather. He is survived by his wife Laura Estelle Dunlap of Innisfail and daughters: Susan Joy Dunlap and Laura Jean Dunlap of Bowden his six grandchildren, Brooke, Jena, Chelsey, Kaley, Shianne and Quinn. He is also survived by sisters; Sybil Pillman and Lily Venn (Bill). He was predeceased by his first wife Doris Jean Dunlap and sisters, Jennie, Mildred, Violet and Ada. Funeral service for the late Walter Dunlap will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 2:00 pm. from the Bowden United Church, Bowden with Reverend John Coe officiating and interment will follow at the Bowden Cemetery.
