McCLENAGHAN, Walter James "Chuck"

January 22, 2017 - Calgary, Alberta

Walter "Chuck" McClenaghan of Calgary, AB, formerly of Red Deer, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the age of 92 years.

Chuck worked for thirty-five years at Imperial Oil Ltd., starting at the Regina Refinery then moving to Red Deer in 1972 working at the Joffre Gas Plant as an operator. Chuck was a long-time member of the Esso Annuitants Club. He was a Veteran of WWII, participating in the European Theatre. Walter was also an avid golfer and sports enthusiast; his life was well lived.

Chuck is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce McClenaghan and Wendy McClosky of Calgary; Step-Grandchildren, Zach (Alexandra) Sinclair, Sean Sinclair (Jenny Davis); Brother and sister-in-law, Lorne and Alice McClenaghan of Surrey, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian McClenaghan (nee Ross) of fifty-six years; his son Ross McClenaghan; and his siblings, Grace, Archie, Ruth, Jessie, Ralph and Neil.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Colonel Belcher for all of the care and support that was given to Chuck during his time there.
