April 29, 2006

WEBBER - (1920-2006) Leroy Edward Webber of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at Valley Park Manor Nursing Home on April 26, 2006 at the age of 86. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his adoring wife of 53 years, June Webber. He also leaves to mourn his passing, daughter Lynn (Larry) Ames of Sylvan Lake, granddaughter, Crystal and great grandson, Issac Michalsky also of Sylvan Lake. One brother, Victor (Gina) Webber of Maple Ridge, BC and two sisters; Margaret McLaughlin of Bonnyville, Alberta and Violet Webber of Penticton, BC. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and one brother. In the younger years, Roy worked in the mines in the BC interior, helped to build the Alaska Highway, and transport the bottles for the Glass House at Creston, BC. During his middle years Roy loved the outdoors and spent many weekends camping with dear friends Jack and Verna McWade. Crib and horse-shoes were high on his list of fun and many evenings were spent doing just that with close friends and neighbours; Marg and Rex Miner, Steve and Dorothy Bayko, as well as Bill and Jessie Rudolph. Although Roy and June had only one child their family extended to beloved pets through the years. As life slowed down for Roy, Morgan and Misty were constant companions. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at Valley Park Manor who made Roy and his family always feel at home. A very sincere thank-you to Dr. Thain who gave Roy excellent care for so many years. No service will be held at Roy's request, however, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alberta Lung Association (P.O Box 4500 Station S, Edmonton, AB, T6E 9Z9).
