WHITE Mr. Bud (Sydney Earl) White Bud White of Innisfail passed away peacefully at the Innisfail Health Care Centre surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the age of 84 years. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. His legacy will live on in his family; Gary and his wife Iris of Innisfail, their children Evan of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and Dayna of Red Deer and his daughter, Faye White and her husband Jim Campbell of Bowen Island, British Columbia. Bud was born in Innisfail on July 17, 1923, the son of Ernest and Rita White. He was raised in lived in Knee Hill Valley, the second eldest of four children. Bud married Ellen Calvert on November 17, 1948. They were happily married for 55 years, retiring to Innisfail in 1985. Bud loved farming throughout his lifetime, driving the combine for his son Gary during harvest this past fall. Bud was active in his community. He was a supporter of the Knee Hill Valley Community Hall, the local 4-H club and was a founding member of the Innisfail Seed Cleaning Plant. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Order of the Eastern star, Innisfail Chapter. Bud and Ellen enjoyed the company of many life long friends, camping, playing bridge, dancing and sharing lots of laughter. They enjoyed many winters in Arizona golfing and making many new friends there. Bud is survived by his sister Eileen (Bill) Bachiwich; his sister-in-law Eunice White; brothers-in-law Ken Gillespie, Joe (Marion) Calvert, Delbert (Dorothy) Calvert, sister-in-law Elsie Moffat and many nieces and nephews. Bud is predeceased by his parents, his brother Norman, sister Dorothy, sister-in-law Lillian Calvert, brothers-in-law Stan Taylor, Louis Calvert, Gordon Calvert, Ken Moffat and nephew Charlie Calvert. Bud touched the lives of many people with whom he shared his great sense of humour, his willingness to try anything at least once, and his compassion and support. Funeral services for the late Bud White will be held on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Innisfail United Church with the Rev. Margaret Lange officiating. Interment will be at the Innisfail Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, Alberta Heart Association, or the Alberta Cancer Society.
