William DARLING

February 17, 2006

DARLING William Thomas "Bill" Darling, formerly of the Edwell District passed away peacefully in the Red Deer Nursing Home February 12, 2006 at the age of 92 years. Bill will best be remembered for his bright mechanical mind. There was rarely a machine he couldn't repair. He was especially proud of his tractors, large and small. Along with making new friends, he won several prizes for the classic tractor slow race at Markerville Pioneer Days. He is survived by his children; Don (Pam) of Nanaimo, B.C, Bill (Sharon) of Strome, AB., David (Wendy) of Parker, AZ., Dixie(Jim Wyszynski) of Cold Lake, AB., Larry (Sherry) of Penhold, AB., nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous brother/sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends. He is predeceased by his devoted wife, Flo, twin sister Alice and brothers Roy and Pat. A memorial tea will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 2810 Bremner Ave., Red Deer, February 18th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association. His long courageous battle against lung disease is finally over. Thank you to the staff of the Red Deer Nursing Home for 8 years of "caring".
