GRIFFITHS William Allen It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Willliam (Bill) Griffiths on December 12, 2008. Bill was born on February 21, 1941 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. In 1948 the family moved off the family farm and into the city of North Battleford where he spent all of his childhood. Bill loved the car business and devoted most of his working life in that industry. He spent 20 years at Ulmer Chev Olds in sales and then moving into a General Manager position. In 1992 Bill was honored to be offered an opportunity by Ford of Canada to become Dealer Principal and General Manager of his own dealership in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Pineridge Ford became his passion and through his dedication and hard work his business became extremely successful. In 2001, Bill decided to sell the dealership and retire in Red Deer, Alberta. Retirement was not easy for Bill who spent all of his life working hard. In the spring of 2007, Bill joined the team at The Gear Center where he loved to work until the time of his passing. Bill's life focused around his family. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Bill is survived by his wife Trudi, his children Carol (Tim) Shirley, Bob (Patty) Griffiths, Kathy Griffiths (Gary), Janet (Dale) Beckman, Vanessa (Scott) Buckley, Justin Griffiths and 15 grandchildren who loved him very much. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Owen and Margaret Griffiths, brothers John and Harry Griffiths and sisters Evelyn Cramatte and Gladys Roberge. Prayers will take place Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8:30pm at St. Leonard's on the Hill, 4241 - 44 Street, Red Deer, AB. A celebration of Bill's life will take place Wednesday, Dec. 17 at St. Leonard's on the Hill at 1:00 pm. Interment in the Alto Reste Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1X2 or the Red Deer & District SPCA, 4505 - 77 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 5H3.
