William WRIGHT

May 7, 2005

WRIGHT William “Bill” John Wright, beloved husband of Alfreda Wright, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Bill was born in Tisdale, SK January 13, 1929 and spent his “growing up years” on the farm near Ridgedale, SK. After moving to Alberta in 1948, Bill pursued a varied career in trucking, retail, bulk oil, farming, trailer manufacturing, and upholstery. He lived in Edmonton, Hay River, Peace River, Wetaskiwin, and Red Deer during this time. Due to poor health, Bill retired from Wright’s Upholstery at 55 and struggled with his health until his passing. A committed Christian, devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, Bill was a true friend who spent his life keeping in touch with those he cared about; in some cases these friendships spanned more than 50 years. Bill is survived by his wife, Alfreda and his well-loved family: Jim and Peggy Wright, Red Deer; Audrey and Jerry Rose, Saskatoon; Marie and Alan McNaughton, Calgary; Margaret and Tim Goode, Lacombe; Faye and Andy Hamilton, Edmonton. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Joy (Tyler), Paul, Dan, David, Stephen, Carol, Michael, Nathan, Adam, Philip, Charlotte, and Jonathan; three brothers, Hugh (Edna), Bruce, Jim (Mary) and two sisters, Mary and Mabel (Jack); plus many extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County (on 32nd Street, west of Hwy. #2) on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Dan Cochrane and Stu Krogman officiating. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the CrossRoads Church Building Fund, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County, AB T4S 2N4 or a charity of your choice. In Memory of the late Mr. Bill Wright a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park.
