WINDRUM (1913 - 2006) Mabel Iris Windrum of Red Deer passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age of 92 years. Iris was predeceased by her husband, Earnest George Windrum in November 1973. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Adele) Windrum, of Lethbridge, and Stewart (Donna) Windrum of Red Deer. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lois Marguerite in 1939. Also, surviving are two sisters, Alice Clement of Newport Pagnell, England, and Edna Daniels of Calgary. Iris is survived by five grandchildren and five-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild. She also has nine step-great-grandchildren. Iris was born in Ceylon, Saskatchewan on July 12, 1913, and was married to Earnest George Windrum on June 26, 1931. Throughout her life she lived in a number of locations, including Kelvington, Lorlie, and Regina in Saskatchewan, as well as, Innisfail, Taber, Skiff, Cardston, Lethbridge, Castor, and Red Deer in Alberta. Iris worked for many years as a stenographer for Alberta Treasury Branches in Innisfail and Taber. Throughout her life she had many hobbies and interests that included sewing, knitting, crocheting, sketching, and reading. A funeral services will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27 and interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge at 3:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Scott Barbour, Southland Funeral Chapel, and Douglas Fretz, McInnis and Holloway Funeral Chapels of Calgary.
