Over 2,500 high school students from central Alberta recently entered RDC’s doors at the 2010 Career Expo and Regional Skills Competition.

Various industries and post-secondary education had representation from around the province. High school students were fed a feast of future options.

And students from around the province competed in Auto Service, Carpentry, Culinary Arts and Welding in the Regional Skills Competition.

Since the hallways had been recently vacated due to end of classes, the buzz of excitement and opportunity was invigorating. There was yo-yo creation, ice-cream making, Army recruiting, and aesthetics beautifying. Teenagers holding wooden pencil holders they created at one-kiosk and a line-up of hungry students at the Culinary Arts table as the cooks flambéed. And of course, RDC had a booth to share the scores of program options and answer any questions that came up.

If you’re in high school, you may have met our Prospective Student team. They are likely the first face of RDC that you will ever meet. Friendly. Approachable. Full of knowledge. Or if you’re a current student you may have sat down with someone from our Career and Employment Services team. And as our campus facilities expand in the coming months and years, Prospective Student offices will be located no longer at the front doors, but down in the 1300 wing. This will offer them more space to serve future students who drop in to ask questions.

So if you’re still in limbo about what program, school or class to take…come visit our consultants and advisors that can help you answer the questions that are still lingering.

RDC – when you get here you understand.
