Big thanks to local media

I want to extend gratitude to Big 105, the Lacombe Globe, the Red Deer Advocate, and Sunny 94 (and Kraze) for your incredible support of last year's Freedom Run 5000.

It was a success. $25,000 was raised and has made it possible for the construction of three classrooms (part of an eight classroom school in Afghanistan). This year we will be giving away and iPad again for the top fundraiser. Last Year, the iPad 2 was given away to Laurie Tomalty who raised over $3,000 dollars.

For the past few months, I have been living in Afghanistan. I can report that it has been an excellent experience so far, and we have been able to further the 100 Classroom Project by opening the first 16 Classrooms (two schools) in June 2011, and beginning the next 16 (two more schools) in December, 2011, for a total of 32 out of 100 Classrooms.

This has been possible as a result of the support from local media, schools, community members, and others who believe, with A Better World, that we will have a safer and better future if we support education for people around the world, but especially in countries like Afghanistan where the average age is 18.
