Bartosak back on the ice
Patrik Bartosak has been released from the Red Deer Rebels doghouse.
The second-year netminder was back practising with his teammates on Monday at the Centrium after being suspended by the club late last week for disciplinary reasons. Prospect Grant Naherniak was summoned from the midget AAA Moose Jaw General to serve as the back-up to Bolton Pouliot in a 2-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers and 4-2 loss to the Calgary Hitmen.
“It was a disciplinary thing that has been dealt with. He (Bartosak) understands it, he knows why (he was suspended),” said Rebels general manager Brent Sutter. “I don’t think we need to go any deeper with it than that.
“It was something that had to be done. He’s a great kid and he’s obviously a heck of a goaltender, one of the best in our league. He’s back at practice today and it will be a coaching decision as to who plays in net tomorrow (tonight versus the Kamloops Blazers).
