Kuehn runner-up at senior women’s golf championship

MEDICINE HAT — Lacombe’s Lynn Kuehn carded a final-round 80 Friday and had to settle for runner-up status in the Alberta senior women’s golf championship.

Kuehn, the leader heading into the final 18 holes, finished with a 54-hole total of 235 that included earlier scores of 78-77.

Jackie Little of the B.C. Public Players Club shot a 75 Friday and captured the provincial title with a 233 total. She turned in earlier rounds of 80-78.

Cathy McMillan of Ponoka tied for 17th with a 253 sum (83-84-86) and Cathy Herbert of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club (RDG&CC) tied for 29th at 259 (82-88-89).

Brenda Hargreaves, Ponoka, 89-83-89—261, tied for 32nd; Sharon Peart, RDG&CC, 87-88-88—263, tied for 35th; Wendy Wiltzen, RDG&CC, 89-95-87—271, tied for 40th; Brenda Morisseau, Ponoka, 89-93-98—280, 49th.
