RDC has second-place performance
EDMONTON — The RDC badminton team turned in a second-place performance at the final Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference regular tournament of the season at Concordia University College during the weekend.
RDC will go into the playoffs, Feb. 18-19 at Mount Royal University, seeded third.
Mary Smith, who was named the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association athlete of the month for January, led RDC with a second-place finish in the women’s singles and a third in women’s doubles with Mizuki Awai and in mixed doubles with David King.
King, who is also on the Kings volleyball team, also hooked up with Brian Smith to take third in men’s doubles.
Logan Capicio and Jeff Cazes were sixth and seventh respectively in men’s singles.
