A little bit of home court cooking for the Central Alberta Basketball Club (CABC) proved to be exactly what the doctor ordered.
CABC gathered an all-star team of sorts to compete at the Red Deer Minor Basketball U17 Tournament in Red Deer and came away victorious in a close championship win over Medicine Hat.
Brooklyn Smith was named the MVP of the final, but CABC also got strong play from Red Deer’s Anna Judd and Danielle Wilson. Faith Kreiser was a rebounding wizard for the club and U16 player Melena Fisher stepped up to contribute some solid minutes.
CABC will have all Red Deer and Mountainview teams in the club playing in Calgary June 9-10 at the Shooting Stars Tournament.
