Queens fall to Pronhorns

LETHBRIDGE — The RDC Queens finished the University of Lethbridge women’s hockey tournament with a 2-1 record after dropping a 4-3 decision to the host Pronghorns Sunday afternoon.

“We got off to a slow start, but were still tied 2-2 after 40 minutes,” explained Queens head coach Rob Weddell. “But they scored with about seven minutes left and again with three and a half remaining and we just couldn’t come back.”

The Queens did score late with goalie Kendra Lakeman on the bench, to make it interesting.

Jessica and Megan Abt each had a goal and an assist for the Queens while Karla Bourke added a goal.

The Queens beat the University of Saskatchewan 2-0 and Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh, Pa., 4-1.
