Lacombe Generals fire on all cylinders in 9-7 win

The Lacombe Generals went full out on offence in their final regular season Chinook Hockey League game, outgunning the Stony Plain Eagles 9-7 on Friday night.

The Lacombe Generals went full out on offence in their final regular season Chinook Hockey League game, outgunning the Stony Plain Eagles 9-7 on Friday night.

The Generals scored five straight goals in a span of about 20 minutes between the first and second period to open a 6-1 lead that the Eagles were never able to recover from.

Stony Plain pushed Lacombe late and made it an 8-7 game, but Riley Sheen scored on the power play with 1:53 left in the third to clinch the win for the Generals.

Brandon Magee finished the night for Lacombe with six points (2G, 4A) and Alex Macleod also added two goals. Magee finished the season with 34 points in 22 games.

Generals forward Riley Sheen also had a big night, as he finished with a four points (1G, 3A). Ryan Kinasewich, Evan Oberg, Eric Schneider and Kyle Sheen all added a goal in the win for the Generals.

Jacob Deserres made 38 saves in net for Lacombe to earn the victory.

It was the seventh straight win for the Generals as they finish the season with a record of 19-3-0-0.
