Brandon Magee scored an early power play marker for Lacombe and Jesse Todd made it 2-0 before the midway point of the first.

At 9:01 of the opening frame Sam Lawson got the Eagles on the board to cut the lead to one. Ryan Kinasewich scored the only goal of the second period, and the Generals looked to have the game all but locked up with the scored again early in the third for a 5-2 advantage.

The Eagles clawed back, with a goal from Matt Beelerive and back-to-back power play markers just 34 seconds a part late in the period from Ty Clay and Caylen Walls.

In overtime, Teegan Moore found the mark for the Generals to earn the two points. Kraymer Barnstable made 26 saves for Lacombe and Dan Dunn turned aside 23 shots for the Eagles.
