Midget AAA

The Red Deer Optimist Chiefs cruised to a pair of weekend wins in Alberta Midget Hockey League play.

The Chiefs shut out the South East Athletic Club Tigers 3-0 at home on Saturday before beating the Foothills Bisons 4-2 on Sunday.

In the 3-0 win at Kinex against the Tigers, Jackson Zimmerman, Nathan Dyck and Graysen Cameron scored for the Chiefs.

Affiliated goalie Duncan Hughes made 19 saves in the win. Red Deer fired 43 shots in the game.

Hayden Clayton, Levi Glasman, Ryan McBeath and Justin Paarup scored for the Chiefs on Sunday. Justin Travis made eight saves to earn the win.

The Chiefs now have a 16-4-7 record and sit third in the Chrysler division with 39 points.

Midget AAA Girls

The Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs grabbed wins in both their weekend games in Alberta Female Hockey League action.

On Friday night, the Chiefs shut out the St. Albert Slash 2-0 and on Saturday defeated the Lloydminster PWM Steelers 3-1.

Chantelle Sandquist earned the shutout with 37 saves and Tyra Coutts and Carley Wlad scored for the Chiefs.

At home on Saturday, Beth Taylor, Jordyn Burgar and Celine Chailler scored in the 3-1 win. Camille Scherger made 23 saves to earn the victory.

Minor Midget

The Red Deer TBS Chiefs scrapped out two points on the weekend against their rival Red Deer TBS Chiefs with a 6-4 win at the Collicut Centre on Sunday.

Colby Chavez-Leech had a natural hat trick for the TBS Chiefs and Matias Letwin, Sawyer Senio and Colby Phillips added goals in the win. Bretton Park earned the victory with 29 saves.

Jared Lee made 35 saves for the Northstar Chiefs and Jackson Rider, Gunnar Keith, Caileb Berge and Kayden Gatz all scored once.

The TBS Chiefs lost 3-1 Saturday to the NWCAA Stampeders, with Tye Carriere scoring the only goal.

Jager Thompson made 21 saves.

The Northstar Chiefs dropped a 5-0 game to the CNHA Blazers on Friday. Cameron Loomis-LaBrosse made 31 saves for the Chiefs.

Bantam AAA

The Red Deer Rebels put up 10 goals in a dominant 10-2 victory over the PAC Saints in Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League play on the weekend.

Noah Danielson had a six-point game for the Rebels, with a hat trick and three assists. Teammate Brett Meerman chipped in with five points, two goals and three assists.

Kayde Budgell added two goals and an assist. Silas Buijs, Konnor Green and Ronan Seeley added also each added a goal. Carter Vooys made 22 saves in the win.

The Rebels are now 20-4-6 and sit in second place in the Ram South division.
