RDC Queens volleyball sweep Broncos for 18th consecutive win

It was another ho-hum victory for the RDC Queens.

The Queens picked up their 18th consecutive match win on the road Saturday, knocking off the Olds College Broncos in three sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-14).

Tess Pearman once again led the RDC attack, picking up where she left off Friday with 12 kills on 24 attempts Saturday. She also had one ace in the match and was player of the game for the Queens.

Emma Holmes was also a big contributor with seven kills, while middle Ali Greenshields picked up six kills. In the win, the Queens had seven service aces and just five errors.

Tabitha Martin had 10 kills in the loss for the Broncos.

The Kings also picked up their sixth straight victory Saturday over Olds College.

They knocked off the Broncos in four sets (25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19) on the road.

First-year Carter Hills was once again a force for the Kings, notching 15 kills and one ace in the victory. Second-year outside hitter Shae McIntyre had his biggest match as a King, pitching in 10 kills. RDC had eight service aces in the win.

Ryzen Walkingbear led the Broncos with 10 kills.

The Kings and Queens will be at home for the final four games of the regular season, hosting the ACAC top-ranked and undefeated Briercrest College Clippers for a pair of games Feb. 14 and 15. They finish the regular season with a pair of games at home against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.
