Roughrider players locked arms during the singing of the Canadian national anthem before Sunday afternoon’s CFL game between Saskatchewan and the visiting Calgary Stampeders.

The gesture comes two days after U.S. President Donald Trump said NFL players who kneel in protest during his country’s anthem should be “fired.”

Some NFL players, and even owners, have stood arm-in-arm during “The Star Spangled Banner” in a show of support to the protesters.
