Martin, Blakely win double gold

at the Western Canada Cup

CALGARY — Amanda Martin and Zach Blakely were double gold medalists for the Red Deer Thunder Country Trampoline and Gymnastics Club at the Western Canada Cup trials and invitational meet during the weekend.

Martin won the trampoline and double-mini trampoline (DMT) in the national novice 10-14 year-old women’s division while Blakely captured the trampoline and DMT in the provincial C boys’ category. He was also 10th in provincial D tumbling.

Kyle Soehn won the national senior men’s trampoline title and was second in DMT while Alexandra Potter won the provincial C girls’ trampoline while finishing second in DMT.

Caiden Cline won the provincial B men’s trampoline, was third in tumbling and ninth in DMT while Peirson Kooman won gold in the provincial D men’s tumbling to go with a fourth in provincial B trampoline.

Madeline Potter won the provincial B women’s trampoline while Morgan Akins was third in both the national novice 15-and-over women’s trampoline and DMT.

Amy Hawkings was second in the national novice 15-and-over women’s DMT and fifth in trampoline.

Tiffany Cottier and Spencer Hansen both came home with bronze medals.

Cottier was third in the provincial B women’s trampoline and Hansen third in the provincial C boys’ DMT. Hansen also placed fifth on the trampoline.

Brittany Lane was fourth on the trampoline and fifth in DMT in the national novice 15-and-over women’s category while Kalena Soehn was fourth in DMT and seventh in trampoline in provincial B women and 10th in tumbling in provincial C.

Karalynn Idland placed fourth in the provincial B women’s trampoline.

RDC Alumni finish with bronze

EDMONTON — The Drummond RDC Alumni women’s indoor soccer team won the bronze medal at tier III provincials on the weekend.

RDC won 2-1 after a shootout with the J.P. Wolves. They won the shootout 4-3.
