Thudium and Domoney RDC Athletes of the Week

A pair of RDC veteran athletes were recognized for their performances on the weekend.

A pair of RDC veteran athletes were recognized for their performances on the weekend.

Fourth-year Queens volleyball libero Kaylee Domoney and fifth-year Kings hockey forward Dylan Thudium were named RDC Athletes of the week Tuesday.

Domoney had a stellar weekend on the court, helping the Queens to a split with the top-ranked Briercrest College Clippers. In Friday’s win over the Clippers, the Red Deer product picked up 11 digs and four assists, earning player of the game honours in the process. In Saturday’s rematch, she at 12 digs and two assists.

She currently ranks fifth overall in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, with 3.48 digs per set. Domoney is now up to 985 digs in her ACAC career, just 15 back of 1,000. The Queens finish the regular season with a pair of matches at home against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.

Thudium had a big weekend, as he pitched in four points during a pair of wins. The centre from Sylvan Lake is up to 113 career points, with 39 goals and 74 assists.

In Friday’s win over the Portage College Voyageurs, he notched a goal and assist. In Saturday’s wild 7-6 overtime victory, he collected a pair of helpers. He has four goals and 15 assists this season in 24 games.
