CALGARY — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have hired June Jones as assistant head coach.

Jones has 34 years of coaching experience at the NCAA, CFL and NFL levels.

He will be looked to help Ticats head coach and vice-president of football operations Kent Austin bring order to a winless Ticats team that is coming off an embarrassing 60-1 loss to Calgary last week.

Jones was head coach of the University of Hawaii from 1999 to 2007, posting a 76–41 record over that time including 4–2 in bowl appearances.

He also served as head coach of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons from 1994 to 1996.

He has CFL experience as a player and a coach. He was on the Toronto Argonauts’ roster as a quarterback in 1982 and was the offensive co-ordinator of the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1986.
