Zoe DeJonge ADSC-Central Athlete of the Month for March

The Alberta Sport Development Centre- Central zone recognized Zoe DeJonge as the Female Athlete of the Month for March this week.

DeJonge, 13, is a Grade 8 French Immersion student at Ecole Fox Run School in Sylvan Lake and a competitive swimmer.

She competes with Sylvan Lake Nauticals at the local, provincial and Canadian age group junior national level.

In 2016, she completed at the Alberta Summer Games and won a gold, a silver and two bronze medals.

At the 2016 Provincials swimming Long Course she won three silver medals. At the 2016 Canadian age group Nationals DeJonge made two finals and placed fifth in her 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.

Also in the 2016 season, she qualified for Westerns in Calgary and Junior Nationals in Toronto this summer. DeJonge is also a multi-sport athlete, competing in school basketball and cross country at Ecole Fox Run, capturing first place in her basketball league this past season.
