To commemorate the grand opening of the new NexSource Centre in Sylvan Lake the town hosted a Free Admission Weekend. Included in the weekend events was a ribbon cutting Friday night. A Spring Fling Bonspiel was held in the curling rink. the swim club held a marathon swim, there was public skating in the new arena, and 3-on-3 basketball and pickle ball played in the old arena.
