The Western Canadian Dairy Seminar returns to Red Deer on March 8, with some of the industry’s leading experts in town to share their knowledge and insights.

Topics at the annual event include dairy products and human health, hoof health strategies, waste solutions, and economic impacts of forage use. There will also be workshops on nutrition and treatments.

Among the speakers will be faculty members from more than a half dozen Canadian and American universities, and industry representatives.

Book-of-the-month club, Columbia House bankrupt

TORONTO — Published reports say the long-running book-of-the-month club Doubleday Canada and DVD and CD mail-order service Columbia House Canada have gone under.

Reports indicate that Doubleday Canada and Columbia House Canada, known as DB Media Distribution, Inc., shut down after declaring bankruptcy this week.
