A network of local business leaders will gather in Ponoka on March 17. The International Ambassadors Program was launched in September to support efforts by Red Deer Regional Economic Development and Central Alberta Economic Partnership to attract foreign direct investment.
Specifically, program members promote the region to companies considering expansion into the region. “International Ambassadors act as a resource for inbound missions and familiarization tours, identify and facilitate new business development opportunities, and share best practices regarding doing business abroad,” said Erin Gates, an economic development specialist with Red Deer Regional Economic Development.
The Ponoka event, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Kinsmen Centre, will feature updates on the International Ambassadors Program and the foreign direct investment initiative.
