Do you want to take your business international?

A good place to start might be the Red Deer Holiday Inn on 67th Street.

That will be the venue for a pair of events organized by the Central Alberta Rural Manufacturers Association. Scheduled for Feb. 25, Global Market Entry Strategies: Best Practices will feature afternoon workshops and an evening program.

The latter will include a presentation by Iris Evans, Alberta’s minister of international and intergovernmental relations. Joining her will be provincial trade officials responsible for South Asia and India, the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

The afternoon workshops, which will run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., will include tips from the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta, insights into the export process from the Canada Border Services Agency and advice from the Business Development Bank of Canada. Marketing strategies and assessments of individual marketing approaches, opportunities and challenges will also be provided. The event kicks off with a networking session at 4:30 p.m., with dinner at 5:45. A case study by a representative of Williams Engineering Canada is also on the agenda. The cost of both events is $75.
