Cattle producers and feedlot operators can learn about tag readers at a Feb. 23 information session in Olds.

Organized by the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency and Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, the free event will provide information about funding for tag readers and software, pending regulations that will affect feedlots with 1,000 or more cattle annually, and other issues.

Canadian Cattle Identification Agency-approved tag readers will be demonstrated and officials with the CCIA and Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development will answer questions.

The session, which is also being held in Lethbridge and Vegreville, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
