Laebon Homes was crowned builder of the year large volume on Saturday, winning five awards at the Central Alberta homebuilders awards of excellence.
Platinum Homes was named builder of the year small volume.
The large volume award goes to builders who build more than 25 homes per year. The small volume builder builds 24 or fewer homes.
Bowood Homes received the award for renovator of the year.
To win the prestigious awards, entrants were awarded points received for housing and/ or renovation projects entered in the Canadian Home Builders Association — Central Alberta Region Awards of Excellence. Those results were combined with results from customer and trade partner surveys.
In addition to the housing awards, the following president’s awards were also handed out:
l Rookie of the year: Brandon Bouchard of Paul Davis Systems
l Member of the Year: Dorinda Gallant of Sorento Custom Homes.
The Gus Bakke Memorial Award went to Kevin Wilkie of True-Line Homes for significant contribution to the association.
“Congratulations to all of the award recipients, your commitment to excellence truly defines the Canadian Home Builders Association,” said Dwayne Eagleson, chair of the 2015 awards committee for the central region.
