Alberta International and Intergovernmental Relations Minister Cal Dallas will travel from Alaska to Idaho this month as he attends a pair of conferences.

The MLA for Red Deer South will be in Anchorage, Alaska, Aug. 8 to 14 for the Council of State Governments national meeting and west conference. Sessions there will focus on global economic development, innovation and rural affairs, with hundreds of legislators, business leaders and community advocates involved.

The Council of State Governments help state and provincial lawmakers share best policy practices and discuss regional issues.

Also attending will be Red Deer North MLA Mary Anne Jablonski and two other Alberta MLAs.

“Alberta has seen significant growth in our energy, agriculture, manufacturing, high-tech, construction and commercial services sectors,” said Dallas. “These conferences provide a platform to discuss approaches for pursuing these new opportunities and increasing trade and investment in all of these areas.”

Dallas will also be in Idaho Falls, Idaho Aug. 18 to 20 to take part in the Intermountain Energy Summit.
