The Central Alberta chapter of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association has announced the finalists for its 2010 Awards of Excellence in Housing.
In the running for Builder of the Year in the small volume category are Capture Developments, Platinum Homes, Sorento Custom Homes and Bowood. Finalists among large-volume builders are Abbey Master Builder, True-Line Contracting, Unique Elevations Inc., Falcon Homes, Mason Martin Homes and Asset Builders.
Finalists for the other awards are:
• Best New Home Up to $224,999: Platinum Homes, Unique Elevations Inc., Abbey Master Builder and Asset Builders.
• Best New Home Between $225,000 and $259,999: Colbray Homes, Asset Builders, Unique Elevations Inc., Abbey Master Builder.
• Best New Home Between $260,000 and $299,999: Falcon Homes, Abbey Master Builder, Unique Elevations Inc. and True-Line Contracting.
• Best New Home Between $300,000 and $349,999: Abbey Master Builder (two entries), Falcon Homes and True-Line Contracting.
• Best New Home Between $350,000 and $424,999: Falcon Homes, True-Line Contracting (two entries) and Falcon Homes.
• Best New Home Between $425,000 and $549,999: Falcon Homes, True-Line Contracting, Unique Elevations Inc. and Mason Martin Homes.
• Best New Home Between $550,000 and $749,999: Capture Developments, Falcon Homes and True-Line Contracting (two entries).
• Best New Estate Home Over $750,000: Falcon Homes, True-Line Contracting and Bowood (two entries).
• Best New Multi Family Home — Apartment Style under $199,999: Asset Builders (two entries).
• Best New Multi Family Home — Town House/Duplex Style under $199,999: Asset Builders, Falcon Homes and Unique Developments.
• Best New Multi Family Home — Town House/Duplex Style over $200,000: Sorento Custom Homes.
• Best Renovation Up to $99,999: Platinum Homes, Sorento Custom Homes and True-Line Contracting.
• Best Renovation over $100,000: Bowood, Capture Developments and Mason Martin Homes.
• Renovator of the Year: Platinum Homes, Sorento Custom Homes, True-Line Contracting, Bowood, Capture Developments and Mason Martin Homes.
• Built Green Builder of the Year: Unique Elevations Inc.
• Energuide Home of the Year: Unique Elevations Inc.
Finalists for professional, trade and supplier member awards are still to be announced.
The winners will be announced at an awards gala on April 17.
