Doug Quinn’s job description has grown longer.

The owner of Red Deer-based Quinn’s Oilfield Supply Ltd. announced on Tuesday that he has acquired the assets of GrenCo Industries Ltd.

GrenCo manufactures equipment for progressive cavity pump artificial lift systems.

Operating for more than 30 years, it has a 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Edmonton, as well as field stores in Provost, Wabasca, Brooks, Lloydminster and Peace River, and in Saskatchewan at Kerrobert, Moosomin and Swift Current.

A news release issued by Quinn Pumps, a division of Quinn’s Oilfield Supply, said Doug Quinn will serve as president and CEO of the business, with Wes Grenke manager of operations and engineering, Darin Grenke manager of manufacturing and Dave Garland manager of sales and marketing.

It added that GrenCo will continue to operate service outlets, and will provide some products through Quinn outlets.

Earlier this year, Quinn’s Oilfield Supply purchased the shares of Red Iron Pump & Supply Inc. of Dickinson, N.D.

The company was started in 1965 by Doug’s father Jim Quinn. It is now the largest rod pump manufacturer in Canada.
