SNC-Lavalin gets US$3.9 million consulting contract for Middle East electrical project

Engineering giant SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (TSX:SNC) says it has won a consulting contract for the the High Voltage Direct Current electricity interconnection project between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

MONTREAL — Engineering giant SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (TSX:SNC) says it has won a consulting contract for the the High Voltage Direct Current electricity interconnection project between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The contract is valued at US$3.9 million, the Montreal company said Thursday.

The services will include selecting a route for the proposed 1,500 kilometre line, the system and design studies and preparation of the request for proposals for power substations and lines in both countries.

SNC-Lavalin is one of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies, with offices in Canada and 34 other countries.
