The electronics options for local consumers will narrow later this month.
Red Deer’s Sony Style store is slated to close on Jan. 26, confirmed Rodi Lesyk, Sony’s district manager.
The retail outlet, which is located at 3203 50th Ave., carries Sony products like televisions, cameras and home entertainment systems. Lesyk said most of the merchandise will be moved to other stores, but some will be liquidated.
“We’ll be clearing out our demonstration products.”
He said the decision to close the Red Deer store was a corporate one, and confirmed that Sony assesses its outlets periodically. “As far as the stores in Alberta, it’s the only closure we have.”
Lesyk said the Red Deer store has about five employees.
