A backhoe operator digs along the southbound lanes as traffic on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway continues to move along albeit at a reduced pace on Tuesday.

Motorists along the busy highway can expect delays and periodic lane closures on the QE2 near Innisfail for the next two weeks.

A travel advisory issued by Alberta Transportation advises motorist to obey a reduced speed limit of 80 km/h through the construction zone and to obey all message boards and flag people.

Moorists are also reminded in the advisory that fines for speeding are doubled through construction zones when worker are present.
