Stantec earns $25.1 million in Q4

EDMONTON — Stantec Inc. (TSX:STN) reported net income of $25.1 million in the fourth quarter, up 9.6 per cent from a year earlier as the engineering and construction firm’s revenue grew to $310.9 million.

EDMONTON — Stantec Inc. (TSX:STN) reported net income of $25.1 million in the fourth quarter, up 9.6 per cent from a year earlier as the engineering and construction firm’s revenue grew to $310.9 million.

The Edmonton-based company earned $22.9 million on $274.8 million in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The quarter’s earnings per share rose to 55 cents from 50 cents per share in the year-earlier quarter.

For the full year, 2010 net revenue was $1.51 billion and net income was $93.6 million, resulting in $2.04 per share of diluted earnings before adjustments. That’s up from $55.9 million or $1.22 per share of diluted earnings in 2009.

Excluding the impact of one-time items for both years, Stantec’s profit was $95.3 million or $2.08 per diluted share in 2010, compared with $90.9 million or $1.98 per share in 2009.

Stantec’s stock was down 55 cents at $27.65 per share on the Toronto Stock Exchange in mid-afternoon trading Thursday.
