A Central Alberta company remains on the fast track, at least by the standards set by Alberta Venture.

The Alberta business publication has included Strata Energy Services Inc. on its Fast Growth 50 list. The oilfield services company, which operates out of Blindman Industrial Park in Red Deer County, was ranked 25th among companies with annual revenues in excess of $20 million.

Last year, Strata was the number 2 company on Alberta Venture list of fastest-growing companies with revenues under $20 million, and earned the number 36 spot on the Profit 100 list of Canada’s fastest-growing companies.

Alberta Venture’s current Fast Growth list, which appears in the magazine’s January issue and can be found online at albertaventure.com, was tabulated on the basis of revenue, assets and profit increases over a three-year period. Strata, which had 2008-09 revenues of $23,693,312, reported a 41 per cent increase in this amount, with assets up 73 per cent and profits jumping 92 per cent.

Also among the 25 fastest-growing companies with revenues of more than $20 million was Cervus Equipment Corp., which was previously headquartered in Red Deer but is now based in Calgary.

Heading the Fast Growth list for companies with more than $20 million in revenues was Watts Mechanical Services Ltd. of Calgary, while Edmonton’s Alberta Land & Investment Brokers Inc. held the top spot among companies with revenues below $20 million.
