Subway coming to Gasoline Alley

Hwy 2 motorists should soon have new reasons to stop at Gasoline Alley.

Hwy 2 motorists should soon have new reasons to stop at Gasoline Alley.

A Subway sandwich shop is expected to open this year at the southwest corner of Leva Avenue and Lantern Street. Ted Pak, a partner in developer Mirae Investments Inc., said the corporate-owned store will operate out of a free-standing building adjacent to the Petro-Canada service station, convenience store and liquor store that opened there late last year.

Construction will begin once the weather improves, he said.

Meanwhile, negotiations with other prospective tenants for the three-acre site continue, said Pak. Several other uses are being considered, including a family restaurant.

Pak said business at the Petro-Canada station has been good, and should improve as more people become aware the business is there. He said development of a proposed Hwy 2 flyover would also boost traffic.
