Border Paving employee Chuck Thomson drives a packer along a trail in the Three Mile Bend park on Tuesday as a man walks his two dogs. Ongoing work in the park will see the addition on new parking spaces a new trail along the access road and widening of existing trail within the park. North of the park construction crews are beginning work on the trail leading from Three Mile Bend to the River Bend Golf and Recreation Area. Construction in the area is expected to wrap up by mid September. In the meantime, a gravel trail will connect the two areas while construction is ongoing.
