Tutu, Gladwell highlight speaker list at conference

Speakers from the list of who’s who in the world will speak during a conference of the Leadership Centre of Central Alberta on Monday and Tuesday.

Speakers include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a Nobel laureate and a human rights activist; Malcolm Gladwell, an award-winning journalist and best-selling author; Randall Wallace, screenwriter, director, producer and songwriter; Meg Wheatley, an organizational consultant, professor and author; and Barbara Bush, former First Lady in the U.S.

Many of the 17 speakers will appear via video conference or computer link.

The second annual conference, called Engaging Minds, Inspiring Action, is at the Sheraton Hotel in Red Deer.

The conference kicks off on Monday morning with keynote speaker Wheatley, who has written and lectured widely on leadership and resilience. She has challenged leaders to find creative solutions. Her topic on Monday is Engaging Minds in the Age of Distraction.
