There will soon be a new eating option in south Red Deer — one catering to early risers and those who favour Chinese cuisine.
Yan’s Restaurant is preparing to open in the Gaetz Avenue strip mall at 3235 50th Ave. There, it will serve western-style breakfasts all day, said owner Mike Zhao.
Also available will be Chinese food, with meals to be served in the restaurant and at drive-through window.
Zhao has operated another restaurant, Yan’s Kitchen at 6011 54th Ave., since May 2008. He hopes to have his new restaurant open by the beginning of August.
The premises were previously occupied by a restaurant that served Fritou Chicken and oriental food, and prior to that were used by several coffee and donut shops.
Yan’s Restaurant will be open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
