Why not design your perfect life?

If you want to have that perfect life you’ve always dreamed of, you need to design or create it.

If you want to have that perfect life you’ve always dreamed of, you need to design or create it.

In order to accomplish anything in life we usually begin by knowing what the end result is we seek and then devising a plan.

Without a plan life just happens and we are not clear about our path or next step we need to take to achieve a goal.

Sometimes it is hard to know what we really want. A simple exercise is to create a Wealth Wall – cut out pictures from magazines of anything that attracts your attention and reminds you of the house, car, or vacation you dream of taking.

What is important to you? Family, friends, earning a large income to help others, volunteering in your community, financial freedom, early retirement, great health.

Paste your pictures on a large poster board and pin it to a wall you will see everyday several times – this will become your Wealth Wall, signifying wealth in all areas of your life.

This first step to designing your perfect life is to understand what is most important to you. We think in pictures, so what you are attracted to in a magazine has meaning for you. Now look at those pictures closely and decide what is the one most important goal you want to set for yourself right now.

The second step is to write yourself a wealth check. How much income would you like to earn and in what time period? (Eg. $1 million payable to: (your name), (date). Put this wealth check where you will see it often.

The third step is to write your mission statement. What do you really feel is your purpose or biggest gift you have to share?

Fourth step is to build a team of people to help you achieve your big ‘goal’. We all need to ask for help, so you may as well have a team of people you can call on for advice and support, after all, we cannot be the expert at everything.

Focus on what you do well, and hire or trade services with those that are the experts in their field for the rest. You will be much more productive doing what you enjoy and are good at, then constantly trying to learn new skills that take enormous effort and time to learn.

Some other tips to help you design your perfect life is to focus on only 1 goal at a time.

Forgive others and yourself. Practise giving generously. Practise getting and receiving.

Express gratitude for what you have and what you will have.

Write down what you love to do and do it!

Write down three activities you will do everyday to reach your goal.

Commit to a realistic time frame and write a schedule. Believe in the abundance of the universe.
