Why are running to be a Member of Parliament?
The past 9 years, the Conservative party has either supported the Liberals or stayed largely silent on many issues affecting the daily life of Canadians. Canadians need an alternative to “politics as usual”.
What skills do you have that make you suitable to be an MP?
I have opened two of the most highly decorated hotels in the province of Alberta, as well as decades of experience running my own retail business, financial services, and sales manager for one of the largest dealers in its sector in the country. There once was a time when government employees were called public servants. Government employees typically had lower salaries than the private sector, and the trade off was gold plated pension and health benefits. Efficiency and results need to be the main focus of government department leaders, and they must be held to the highest standards of excellence on behalf of taxpayers. The 620 billion dollars spent by the Liberal government in the past 9 years has DOUBLED our national debt. Fraud and waste must be stopped immediately if our nation is to avoid a collapse of our currency.
What is your plan to address affordability and the cost-of-living crisis?
Despite Poland, Germany, and Japan meeting with Trudeau to sell them natural gas, the Liberal government refused to sell these countries Canadian natural gas - which is one of the cleanest sources of energy on the planet. Government incompetence has cost Canada a trillion dollars in natural resources sales. Government bureaucracy has relegated Canada to one of the least desirable or financially viable places on earth to invest in natural resources. Sovereign wealth funds, corporations and pension funds now seek investment everywhere in the world except Canada. Canada used to be the 14th best place on earth to invest in energy, and now Canada is one of the least sought-after places on earth to invest. which ends foreign investment. I will work diligently I will work tirelessly to reestablish Canada as the preeminent, safe, and politically risk-free location to invest in. Returning foreign investment into Canadian projects will create jobs, as well as billions of dollars of tax revenues.
How do you think Canada should handle threats to its sovereignty?
A recent RCMP report shows Canada allows 4,000 criminal gangs to operate in this nation with almost total impunity. The flooding of America with Canadian fentanyl has become a national security threat to the United States. Mexico has become a national security threat to the United States due to its refusal to deal with the criminal cartel enterprises. A weak nation that cannot defend itself will always become a target for threats to its sovereignty. Reestablishing our strong military tradition will be key, as well as developing strong and diligent border enforcement. The refusal of previous governments to address threats from Canada to America, has resulted in the current adversarial position the US has taken towards Canada. If elected, I will make border security a key priority, in order to assure our largest trading partner and market - the United States - that sharing the longest unguarded border on earth is a privilege – not a right.
