Hay’s Daze: An act of the heart

Hay’s Daze: An act of the heart

There’s really nothing very amusing about the words “cardiac” or “catheter,” or even “clinic,” for that matter. They don’t even sound particularly pleasant, at least to my ear - and most of the associated connotations are not exceedingly happy ones. So what is a presumably happy little column like this one doing even mentioning those “C words”? Good question. Perhaps I should explain.

Kitchen Confessions: Making home remedies to get through cold & flu season

It’s that time of year; eyelids are starting to puff, throats are starting to scratch and noses are starting turn red and drip… Colder temperatures lure us back inside buildings where we breathe each other’s germ infested air. College Beat: Red Deer College is invested in the future of Central Alberta.

While 2017 was one of the most dynamic years of future-focused planning and construction that our College has ever seen, I am enthused and optimistic about our ability to make 2018 a year to remember. We are about to embark on a period of growth and opportunity that is unparalleled in our 54-year history. This growth will have a positive impact on our learners and on our businesses and industry partners from across central Alberta for many years to come.
Seniors/Aging: Too young for this

Seniors/Aging: Too young for this

Michelle started noticing some changes in her mother Debra 2 years ago. Debra who has always been confident and outgoing was becoming overly anxious about trivial things and withdrawn, at the age of 56. Debra was also repeating herself a lot and in Michelle’s words “nothing seemed to stick in mom’s head”.
