1. How would you describe yourself as a dancer before this experience?

I grew up dancing tap, jazz, ballet, Ukrainian and Highland from the age of 4. I had wonderful high achieving dance teachers and competed in every competition I think they had in those days. I soon learned what a commitment I had to make to dance, and the amount of time and work that went into each routine.

2. What was the most challenging part you overcame/hope to overcome?

My most challenging part to overcome at this age is getting my body and mind back to that kind of discipline, in order to properly learn and perform in front of a crowd.

3. What is the best quality about your dance partner?

Dale Tosczak is my partner. He is so patient, and his ability to explain and breakdown every movement has made him such a wonderful instructor to work with.

4. What would you like others to know about this experience?

I would like them to know that this is a lot of work that I don’t think people realize, but it is very self-rewarding, and it raises money for many great causes.

5. Would you call yourself a dancer now and in the future?

I don’t think I could say that I could ever call myself a “dancer” in this kind of style, unless I was to make a future commitment to keep training when this dance off is done.

It is so different than what I grew up doing, it is a totally new experience, and I don’t think people realize just how hard it is.

Other dancers include: Duane Daines, Troy Gillard, Mellisa Hollingsworth, Cari MacLean, Carla MacLeod, Todd Simenson, and John Young.
